Professional Profile
Stacy is a Stanford University adjunct lecturer, vocal coach, theater director, and intimacy director who brings over twenty years of experience and a rare, deeply holistic approach to the performing arts. Based in California’s Bay Area, Stacy works with a vibrant roster of students both in person and internationally via Zoom.
Her work is grounded in a diverse and deep educational foundation: an undergraduate degree spanning mathematics, neuroscience, psychology, voice, theater, and dance from Harvey Mudd and Pomona Colleges, followed by a Master’s degree in Creativity from Stanford University. She is also certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and has over 300 hours of training from Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC). She consistently participates in continuing education in the fields of anatomy, physics, language, psychology, biology, movement, ethnography, and more.
As an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford in both Stanford's D.school and Music departments as well as an instructor within a plethora of tech, start-up, and non-profit companies, Stacy loves teaching the process of creativity, including how to bring consciousness and joy to daily practice. By merging the cognitive science of the mind and body with trauma-informed, consent-forward practices, she creates offices, studios, and rehearsal rooms where people can take bold creative risks securely.
Her work experience in the verticals of Design (IDEO), Tech (Microsoft), hard goods (Nike), soft goods/finance (FICO), and more make her an ideal vocal coach for industry executives.Direction & Production Background
Stacy has been "behind the table" in the Bay Area for over 20 years. She has functioned as a Theater Director, Intimacy Director, Choreographer, Vocal Director, Music Director, Stage Manager, and Casting Director sometimes wearing multiple hats at once. At the collegiate level, Stacy has taught musical theater and has served as an intimacy theater director for Stanford University and Ohlone College. Her work has been seen from Western Stage in Salinas, to South Bay Musical Theater in Saratoga, CA, to the New York based Jewish Plays Project, and beyond.
Educational Leadership & Outreach
Deeply committed to fostering the next generation of storytellers, Stacy regularly directs and vocal directs for leading youth organizations like Children’s Musical Theater (CMT) of San Jose, Peninsula Youth Theater, Los Altos Youth Theater, and Portola Valley Theater Conservatory, and has taught voice and choreography at local schools including Westmont and Cupertino High Schools and Iron Horse Middle School. She is also an adjudicator for the Rita Moreno Awards, the feeder competition to the Jimmy Awards.
Whether lecturing on creative breakthrough at the university level, coaching a student halfway across the world on Zoom, or directing a large-scale musical production locally in California, Stacy leverages decades of expertise to empower performers to master their craft, honor their boundaries, and deliver unforgettable, authentic stage moments.
